Nebraska Medicine
Sr. Engineer
I have been actively involved for over 40 years' now working with data, business processes automation, software and business change. My experience includes installing many of the first imaging/workflow system in the Midwest before joining Zurich where we designed and implemented an award-winning BPM system saving Zurich millions while processing over $6B in claims and policies. More recently I have shifted to data transformation/analysis, and now am part of a team utilizing data to improve the quality and efficiency of care in pursuit of Nebraska Medicine mission of providing serious medicine, extraordinary care.

Privately I read a lot of books on exponential change, business disruption, etc. and supports youth robotics. I occasionally blogs at www.whatsaythedata.com.

My talk will focus on the topic of Machine Learning/AI/Predictive, with an assessment of where we are, how we got here, and where we may be going due to the exponential changes going on in technology. An overview of what the needs/opportunities are, how to get started, what tools are available, and some real-world examples of AI in use will be discussed along with the potential it brings to disrupt many industries. As Peter Fingar stated in his book, "Cognitive Computing", "All's Changed …. Changed Utterly".
